“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace” Isaiah 9:6
Can we imagine what the first Christmas was like as highlighted in Luke chapter 2, to what we currently have celebrating the birth of the Savior of the world. What is so inspiring is the real meaning of this wonderful season- it is all about Christ the Savior. On the other hand, what is surprising is how the name of Christ has slowly been taken out of His own celebration.
We even have many who will refuse to recognize the name of Jesus in anything that has to do with Christmas. What we find is the strong wave aimed at suppressing the true meaning of Christmas- which is impossible because Christ lives strong in everyone that has invited Him in as Savior and LORD. That glorious life in God’s people can never be suppressed, silenced or canceled.
Christmas celebration was born out of God’s love to redeem His people from eternal separation. The Almighty God gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life. Giving and receiving gifts is a highlight of Christmas time. Our Wonderful Gift, Jesus Christ, was wrapped with God’s unconditional love to whoever will receive Him.
With Advent coming to a close, let us unwrap the Gift of Christmas with care, reverence and worship. Let us unwrap how Wonderful Jesus has been to us, let us unwrap how Jesus has been a Counselor to us, let us unwrap in worship how Mighty our God is, let us unwrap the joy of having God as our Everlasting Father and let us unwrap the reality of peace through our Prince of Peace.
That is a lot of unwrapping to do as we bask in the Presence of God for His marvelous gift to us His people. Let us celebrate Christmas by un-wrapping the Wonderful Gift-Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord is. We wish you a Merry Christmas in different languages, from our family here at Oasis to you and yours:
