Repost: Oasis Focus Inc.

5/16/2018

Howdy Friends!

This is the last week of STAAR assessment! I can hear the shouts of excitement from all angles- educators, students and parents! Remember that the test is a part and not the whole of a student's learning. This past week, I celebrated level 1 of my golden jubilee birthday :). Yes, I am celebrating this milestone in 3 levels. The next level is a party.  Level 1 was my exploration of all things dangerous! A big thank you to my incredible husband for making this happen and for his support. Things dangerous like riding a gondola lift pulled by electric motor across a mile in the air, crossing the US border to see all we take for granted as Americans and up close on a safari tour. I am deeply grateful for all of God's goodness. My life tank is overflowing with so much love, joy and gratitude. Thank you all for the birthday wishes and blessings. I am grateful to God for each of you. Below is a repost from my husband on updates here at Oasis Focus Inc. Love & Blessings!!

"Here, moreover, it is required of stewards, that they be found faithful" (
1 Corinthians 4:2).

Each week we receive your prayer requests, questions and encouragement. We appreciate you taking the time to write and inform us how this ministry is blessing you and how Oasis Connection (TV program) is inspiring you and your families. Thank you for your partnership, together our Lord’s name will continue to be lifted high and souls will be drawn into the Kingdom. This post is to answer some of your questions and provide ministry updates.

1. Education has been a vital avenue in reaching people. We know that from our family and many others who mentor students in our schools. Back in January when we set our monthly goals for Oasis Connection, we decided we would dedicate three months to education. Texas is one of the few states with multiple education options. To that effect, we chose the months of April, May and June to focus on education options. The month of April focused on homeschool option with Homeschool Movement Pioneers the McCords. This month, we are focusing on Christian education option with Bethesda Christian School educator Mrs. Laura Scheufler. Next month we will focus on public school and highlight Christ ambassadors serving in our schools. One of our guests for this segment is a central administrator in public school and he is a strong follower of Christ. Our other guest is one of our board members here at Oasis Focus Inc., she has been a faithful servant of our Lord in our public schools for quite some time. Majority of our student population attend public schools. The great news is that across our state, we have many dedicated followers of Christ just like our guests who have been called to minister in our public schools. Be sure to watch Oasis Connection in June.

2. The Oasis Connection TV program continues on the UANetwork as a bi-weekly program on Saturdays at 9:30AM Central Time Zone. There are several ways to watch, which we have highlighted on the TV Broadcast tab of this website. We appreciate all the feedback. They have been instrumental as Oasis Connection grows in content. Please, continue to send us your feedback. We value them and do take time to read them all.

3. On off weekends when Oasis Connection is not on UANetwork broadcast, we feature past TV programs on our YouTube Channel and here on the website. The YouTube Channel typically features an excerpt from the TV program, while the entire program is available here on our website for at least two weeks. In the event you miss any of the current broadcast, be patient. The broadcast will eventually be featured here via the TV Broadcast archives tab.

4. Our annual Excellence in Character Scholarship Award is open, and application deadline is June 17, 2018 by 5:00 p.m. The scholarship award is for graduating seniors.  You can help us by identifying seniors that meet the criteria in Dallas and Tarrant counties. This is our way of investing in our next generation of leaders. Please, visit the scholarship tab of this website for more information.

Thank you to everyone that celebrated my Beautiful Queen for her Golden Jubilee this past week. She is a rare gem that God has blessed me with. My daughters would not be who they are today thriving in both their spiritual and professional lives, if not for her. And I am a better man because of her. We love and appreciate her immensely. And many of you know firsthand, how contagious her love for God and people are. You are a witness to the Christ life in her. She is an epitome of beauty. Her internal beauty shines brightly to the glory of God! And to all our beloved mothers, we salute you for serving your families relentlessly. Thank you! Mother's Day salutations do not have to end with this past Sunday. God Bless you!

Repost: Towel Ministry

5/2/2018

Howdy Friends!

Four-three weeks left in the school year! Unbelievable! Seems like yesterday the school year started. Our dedicated educators are counting down.......in days... to the end of the school year. Before the end though, there is STAAR assessment tucked in this month. Yes, those are not over yet. We need better calendar planning for assessment. Many third graders are tired out by now. They are yet to take their STAAR, which previously they have taken by now. Hang in there troopers! It's almost finished. Cheering you on to the finish line! Little or big ways, we can all rally support for our educators as they finish the year. Please do! Below is a repost treat for you to enjoy from my incredible husband. Science nerds unite just in time for that Science STAAR this month. Read. Reflect. Receive. And. Refresh. Repeat.                 Love & Blessings!

"So He got up from the meal, took off His outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around His waist. After that, He poured water into a basin and began to wash His disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around Him" (John 13: 4-5).

During a recent business travel, my flight was delayed for three hours. Such times lends itself to cleaning out my phone messages, emails and finishing a good book. This time I was finishing up Truett Cathy’s book Doing Business the Chick-fil-A Way. As founder of Chick-fil-A, Truett Cathy exemplified the servant leadership model that our Lord and Savior Jesus was. In John 13: 4-5, Jesus modeled before His disciples who He is and what He wants to see in each of the disciples. Jesus’s ways at that time was looked upon as out of the ordinary. Jesus modeled the Father’s heart and way of service. He took off his outer clothing and wrapped a towel around His waist. It was after these two postures that He began to pour water into a basin, washed His disciples’ feet and dried their feet with towel.

The two postures Jesus took reveal principles for servant leadership. Effective leadership requires we “take off our outer clothing”. This is similar to the molting process butterflies go through. Through a series of shedding, the butterfly sheds its old skin and embraces its new life. Scientists have been able to study the gruesome process of molting with all the interactions taking place.  Once the butterfly goes through molting, nothing can stand in its way of flight. Each stoke of flight, takes the butterfly to higher heights. My encouragement to us brothers and sisters, is to embrace the molting just as much as the new life. Let’s take off every limitation. No matter where you may be in your walk with God; whether molting or new life, one thing is certain; God is with you and for you. He has promised He will never leave you. Give God permission to hold your hands. His grip and hold are tender and loving. He will continuously manifest His presence to you always. He is that faithful.

In the second posture, Jesus wraps a towel around His waist. This reveals a mindset and attitude towards God, others and self. Philippians 2:6-7, gives the exact pulse of this mindset, “Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to His own advantage; He made Himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.” Jesus served His disciples with everything He was. His love for them motivated Him to serve. Beloved, brothers and sisters, may this be our constant pursuit that the towel ministry mindset will grow and bear much fruit in us as Christ’s ambassadors. This brings glory to our God.

Here at Oasis Focus Inc., we are doing our part in partnership with fellow co-laborers to reach a desperate world with a living hope in Christ Jesus. Thank you for your partnership, together our Lord’s name will be lifted high and souls will be drawn into the Kingdom. We are humbled by your support. Our analytics show that just this year alone (January to April), we have had 44,713 unique site visitors. We are blown away by all God is doing. We anticipate with grounded hope, greater harvest of souls as we seek to glorify our Lord Jesus Christ! God Bless you!
