Feyi Obamehinti was born in Phoenix, AZ by Nigerian parents and raised in Nigeria, Africa where she completed her elementary and secondary education. She holds a master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction with a lifetime-permanent licensure in Composite Science in the state of Texas. Feyi is currently an educational consultant specializing in ESL, Science and Minority education, utilizing her expertise in supporting and training educators. She knows first hand the ins and outs of teaching students from diverse backgrounds and cultures. She is adept at navigating available resources and opportunities for students, especially gifted/talented students, honed from her own personal experience of raising three gifted children. Her insightful educational tips have helped all of her three daughters gain admission with scholarships/grants to SMU and Rice University, with the oldest now a graduate of SMU and a doctoral student at UNT. Second daughter graduated with double majors from Rice University and now a global medical student in Europe. Youngest daughter is a rising senior at SMU where she is a Mechanical Engineering and Mathematics major. Feyi’s is also an author, her book, The Cooperative Teacher Handbook, orients student teachers in their internship experience. Additionally, she is co-author of The Student Refugee Framework, a manual designed for Texas educators to effectively support their refugee students and families.
Feyi loves to spend time with her handsome husband of twenty three years, lovely adult daughters and fun friends. She enjoys traveling, cooking menus from different countries and learning about other cultures. Those that know Feyi personally will tell you she is a lighthouse of joy to be around with a bubbling personality that radiates her love of life. She has a deep passion for God and people.
