It’s officially summer time! If you live in Alaska that's not a big deal. If you live in Texas, the heat is on! Our clan has been a-traveling a lot for the past four weeks! From living out of suitcases, to staying on top of time zones, to managing jet lag, it’s been a good hectic 2018. Best part is that so far we have not had any missing or delayed luggage.
In between the travels, we had the opportunity to celebrate the Patriarch of the Obamehinti clan- my handsome incredible husband. Our daughters and I love spoiling him every chance we can get him to slow down some. Father’s Day is one of such. He is a priceless gift! We are grateful for his integrity, love and how he leads his family in the ways of God. He keeps us grounded in truth and grace. Grateful to God for you Dr. Johnson Obamehinti! You are a forever blessing. The girls and I love you and appreciate you greatly. To all our God fearing men- thank you for your love for God and your families. Our world is better because of each of you. You are standard bearers of God’s love, truth and His kingdom.
Light- has been a reoccurring word in our travels. As it is in many international hotels, the advantage of energy saving technology that turns off the lights cannot be overstated. By inserting and removing the room key, one quickly appreciates the effect of a little ray of light in the room. Sometimes, it's a challenge to see the door handle as you exit the room into the hall way. Physics is not one of my science soft spots. Anything physics for me must be learned repeatedly, before a speck of understanding sticks. That’ the case for our older two daughters as well. My husband and our youngest daughter on the other hand are complete opposites. Math and anything physical sciences are favorite pastimes. In fact, I remember a project our youngest daughter completed during her high school years on optics. The common experiment called for her to demonstrate the wave nature of light.
The major conclusion from the experiment was that light travels through a vacuum. Unlike sound wave that is carried by vibrations through a medium. Since light does not require a medium, it travels extremely fast! This is a good description of the effect of light that ambassadors of Jesus Christ carry with them. Light is a form of energy. Light makes things visible. Light alters an atmosphere. Light guides. Light always has a source. The most important attribute is that without a source, light will be incapable of its effects. My German friend says it so well in one of her phrases: Have Jesus, have light. No Jesus, definitely no light. To live life without the source of light is to live in darkness. To plug into the source of light is to eliminate darkness. Light makes all the difference through eternity. So dear friends, let's stay plugged into The Source of life; and be continuously charged to disseminate darkness with the light that flows out. Be sure to take a slower pace this summer and enjoy family and friends. Until next post, off to get some work done before the next round of travels. Love and Blessings!!
"The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple." Psalm 119:130
