Not only from personal experience with our own daughters but with former students and mentees, the development of character is critical to life-long success. The foundation of character, lends itself to the expression of many virtues such as diligence, loyalty, commitment and self-control.
This past weekend as my husband and I gathered items for a community event, we came across some old Abeka books our daughters used in their homeschool years. It brought back sweet memories of those years of training them for life. Reflecting on those years, I am reminded of Galatians 5: 22-23. The principles of character education is exactly the fruit of the Holy Spirit highlighted in Galatians 5:22-23. However, the empowerment to live it out comes from the source of life-the Holy Spirit Himself. Through friendship, He enables, conforms, energizes and activates.
We are on a quest here at Take Back Ministries, to find a young man or woman living out these virtues through the Excellence In Character Scholarship program. Though launched for Tarrant County, our long-range goal is to add more areas every school year. We are thrilled and we invite you to join us on this quest! Visit www.takebackministries.com/scholarship for all the details. Love & Blessings!!
