I have loved meeting many of you around town as we all stay cool in this summer heat. Cheering and standing with you as we continue spreading hope. To all the remarkable women nominated in past years, congratulations and thank you for your exceptional leadership in making our communities better, stronger, engaging and thriving. Shout out to our Pastor Debbie Morris who is a past winner of the annual nomination. Below is a repost from my incredible husband on the power of reflection. Read. Reflect. Receive. And. Refresh. Repeat. Love & Blessings!
As I shared sometimes back, each week we receive your prayer requests, questions and encouragement. We appreciate you taking the time to write and inform us how this ministry is blessing you, how we can get better serving you and how Oasis Connection (TV program) is inspiring you and your families. Thank you for your partnership, together our Lord’s name will continue to be lifted high and souls will be drawn into the Kingdom.
This post is to provide some answers in form of reflection. We believe if one person has a question, there are probably others with the same question. To that effect, we have dedicated an entire broadcast reflecting on past episodes to help equip more people that might benefit from the answers. The reflection broadcast will air next month- be on the lookout for announcements.
Genesis chapter one chronicles the story of creation. We see through each verse how God created our world. One thing caught the eye of my spirit in the chapter- God reflected on what He created. God expressed His thought as He looked and meditated on what He had created. Each of the six verses in Genesis chapter one gives an understanding on the importance of reflection.
Genesis 1:10 “God called the dry ground “land,” and the gathered waters he called “seas.” And God saw that it was good.”
Genesis 1:12 “The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.”
Genesis 1: 18 “To govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good.”
Genesis 1: 21b “And God saw that it was good.”
Genesis 1: 25 “God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.”
Genesis 1: 31 “God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.”
In one of the broadcast next month, my beautiful Queen and I reflect on some of the past broadcasts with the amazing guests we have had. I also answer the question from one of our faithful partners about the ethics surrounding romance in the workplace. The rule of law with many corporations, when it comes to spouses working together is to guard against nepotism and any propensity for misuse of authority. So, a supervisor is not encouraged to date his/her direct report and a spouse is not encouraged to supervise his/her spouse (or vice versa). The main thing to keep in mind in our witness for Christ is the truth in 1 Corinthians 6:12, “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be enslaved by anything.”
Reflection is a powerful practice for anyone, especially for followers of Christ. Reflection is an alignment agent to safeguard our hearts in alignment with that of our Heavenly Father. Reflection also assures we are living out what is in our hearts. Through the help of the Holy Spirit, reflections take us from meditation towards transformation in being Christlike in our walk- which is our ultimate pursuit as followers of Jesus Christ. As you can see, your feedback is valuable to us. Thank you for your partnership.
I close out this post with the announcement of my Beautiful Queen's honor as one of the ten Inspirational, Accomplished & Engaging Women of Northeast Tarrant County for 2018, in the Society Life Magazine. I am so proud of the beautiful, anointed woman of God she is! Be sure to get a copy of the magazine. Stay connected and keep looking up! God Bless you!
