Every believer today and in Bible times is no different from Grant Taylor, faced with giants that are no respecter of persons; they assault the rich, poor, Christian, non-christian, believer, young, old, educated and illiterate. Giants come in all forms, sickness, unemployment, poverty, doubt, fear, the list goes on. Giants take after their originator- the devil. They are ruthless, obnoxious with a threefold focus- steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10). Our Savior and Lord on the other hand has one main desire for His bride- to give life and give life in abundance (John 10:10).
In Deuteronomy 9:2-3, we see an account of the Israelites facing giants as they cross the Jordan to go in and dispossess nations greater and stronger than they were. “2 The people are strong and tall—Anakites! You know about them and have heard it said: “Who can stand up against the Anakites?”3 But be assured today that the Lord your God is the one who goes across ahead of you like a devouring fire. He will destroy them; he will subdue them before you. And you will drive them out and annihilate them quickly, as the Lord has promised you”. In this case, Jehovah-Naheh - Lord who Smites - Ezekiel 7:9 went before the Israelites and defeated the Anakites before the Israelites drove them out to possess the land God had promised them.
In 1 Samuel 17:4-7, we also see how God used young David to slay the Philistine, Goliath, an actual giant. The scripture describes Goliath “A champion named Goliath, who was from Gath, came out of the Philistine camp. His height was six cubits and a span.5 He had a bronze helmet on his head and wore a coat of scale armor of bronze weighing five thousand shekels; 6 on his legs he wore bronze greaves, and a bronze javelin was slung on his back.7 His spear shaft was like a weaver’s rod, and its iron point weighed six hundred shekels. His shield bearer went ahead of him”. These are frightening descriptors; which is typical of “giants”. These descriptors probably fit the giants that you might be facing now, or about to face or had faced in the past.
No matter what you might be facing now, there is an irrevocable guarantee; the provision for victory has already been made. God sent His Son- Jesus to pay the ultimate price. Colossians 2:14-15 tells us exactly what Jesus did, “having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; He took it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.” All we need to do is continually activate our faith to receive this victory in slaying any giant that would come our way. Giants will come your way, whether you are prepared or not. The major goal of any giant is to prohibit your possession of the "promised land",
You are probably reading this is and thinking this brother does not know me though, I cannot possibly slay this giant that is hindering me from possessing the promise God has given me. If you will only believe, ALL things are possible. God has endowed you with a Holy Ghost stock piled ammunition and He, the Spirit of the Living God knows exactly how to aim directly at the giant. So receive the victory Jesus has already won for you; then activate your faith, believe, and watch the manifestation unfold before your eyes as you demolish the giant standing in your path. Never underestimate the supernatural power of God that resides within you. God is for you, God is in you, and God is the ultimate Man of War. What are you waiting for? Activate your faith, slay those giants, subdue the kingdom of darkness, and possess your promised land!
