I hope you had a wonderful Resurrection celebration with your families. Thank you for your patience. It has taken longer than anticipated to post answers to questions asked after the primary elections. Educators, you understand how hectic this time of year is. In fact, this week is STAAR testing. Educators, students and parents have worked hard to get to this point. Cheering you on to a successful end of school year. Below are answers and my reflections.
Thank you so much to each one that prayed, voted, donated and supported for the 2018 run for the State Board of Education, district 11. The past four months have been hectic and enriching. My greatest delight has been the amazing people I have met, got to know and the way we conducted the campaign from beginning to the end. It gives me great joy that God was glorified all through. I don’t have the words to do justice to the deep satisfaction of pleasing God through the whole process. It is a testament to the power of God at work in each team member. Big shout out to my incredible husband for surrogate campaigning, delivering signs and keeping us all on track. Another big shout out to my dear friend and tell it like it is campaign manager-Wynne for her commitment and dedication. What a woman of faith and conviction! Another shout out to my dear friend and treasurer Vicki for her commitment and dedication, despite her hectic schedule. Grateful for you! Another shout out to our wonderful couple friends- the Halls for their unwavering support. You both are incredible! And to every endorsing political leader (Julie McCarty, Rep Rinaldi to mention a few) and organizations, I am grateful beyond words for your support and conviction in preserving liberty and conservative values. We have work to do as we prepare for the November general elections in support of all nominated candidates. For our campaign, we have two full years till next election cycle and we will stay engaged.
I received nineteen questions to be exact after the primary. I have categorized the questions/answers to do justice to this limited space. The first category is on priorities for the SBOE office. The Q& A I did for the Southlake, Grapevine, Colleyville Community Impact paper answers this first category of questions very well. There is no need to repeat the same answers all over, please read up on it by clicking on this link: http://bit.ly/2GaEA0q
The next category of questions is on accomplishments. I have been blessed by God for His own glory. He has allowed me to serve Him and shine His light in many arenas. I am grateful for every arena to proclaim His name! However, my greatest accomplishments are the three wonderful daughters God blessed my husband and I with. To have had the privilege to pastor their hearts for God and build strong academic foundations in their lives through our eleven years of homeschooling is a precious gift that keeps on giving. Then to have had the privilege to see them transition and flourish in public schools and college with some of the finest educators Texas has is precious. Through their transition to public school and college, God helped them maintain their faith and grow in their walk with Him. We are beyond grateful for the faithfulness of God. If you have heard me speak about our journey, you have heard me say, we were not too concerned about our daughters’ academics but their faith and character. They each graduated high school at age 16 and college at 20. To see them become beautiful, amazing, young women of God today at ages 27, 25 and 23, is a glory for God’s faithfulness and goodness! Our way of gratitude to God, is giving back to help others experience the goodness of God. To whom much is given, much is required.
The last category is on values. Some of you want to know what my values are and the spectrum. My values are all Bible based and have been the focal points in our lives. For those of you that know us- that’s not a surprise. It is a daily prayer and pursuit to live a Christlike life as His ambassador. Below you will find highlights to my core values.
