Thank you to all the families that joined the effort of sending the Word of God to our military men and women overseas. Your contributions are en route to providing Bibles for our men and women serving in a dangerous zone this Christmas. For these men and women, Bibles bring comfort and the power of God’s Word for strength and courage. Also, our ministry team have completed fifteen hand-written letters of encouragement that are on their way to loved ones serving on the front lines overseas. It is a blessing for us to speak into the lives of these courageous men and women. We are grateful for this opportunity to join hearts and efforts together. If our Lord tarries, we will do this again next year and bless even more of our military men and women serving overseas. Don’t forget to pray for these brave men and women and their families.
Recently, my wife and I were preparing to speak at an event organized by some friends for military families. As I was writing my outline, the Holy Spirit quickened my spirit to Psalm 34:3. It was a favorite scripture. I leaned in to hear what the Holy Spirit would speak or illuminate. As I re-read the verse suddenly, I heard, “How my people see me affects everything in their lives”. Without any delay, it was time to seek, pray and hear more.
Here are the words of admonition and challenge to us as followers of Christ. Have we made our Almighty God too small in our understanding? Psalm 34: 3 is not implying that we make God big; because we cannot make Him big. Nothing we do will ever make God big. He already is big and will always be! However, this scripture is calling us to an understanding of seeing God big. Take the example of a telescope that is used to look at a star that is way out in the sky. The telescope does not make the star bigger but it helps us to see the star big. In similar way, we cannot make God bigger, but we are to see Him bigger.
Beloved brothers and sisters, God calls us to magnify Him, to see Him big. The bigger God is seen in our lives, the greater the effect of His presence and His power that works in and through us. Come and let us magnify our God!
