There is a big sigh of relief across the nation with the mid-term elections over. This has been one of the most vitriolic elections we have ever had as Americans. I waited till after the elections to make this blog post that I recently shared with a friend. I grew up in Nigeria, Africa where it is the norm to have riots after a major election. This is how the people expressed their displeasure at the outcome of the elections. America on the other hand has prided itself at its peaceful transfer of power and acceptance of outcome of elections. However, since the 2016 Presidential elections there has been silent expressions of displeasure at the outcome of the elections that it has resulted in the rise of division that have attempted to weaken our witness as followers of Jesus Christ.
In America, people choose what platform they will affiliate with based on their value system. The interesting thing is that our American culture has already pre-determined based on a variety of factors the narrative a person should be categorized in. This should never be the case. Every human being should be able to choose what his or her value system is and should never be vilified for that choice. Take for example our family- we do not fit into your typical narrative of what the American culture has pre-determined based on platforms. Our value system is Biblical, it is a choice our family has made and deemed as priority for us. During the elections, my beautiful wife was going to go campaign for one of the candidates our family supported. She wanted to wear a t-shirt she had won at a meeting. She asked me, what I thought. I immediately told her, she has already caused enough ruckus by being an African American woman and a Republican living in Texas. And for her to wear the t-shirt will only add more fuel to the vitriol hate already in existence. She understood the climate she was going to and decided to wear something else.
With the elections over, we have our Heavenly Father’s Kingdom to tend to as followers of Jesus Christ. This kingdom of God that we carry within us is powerful beyond words. We have been tasked with this kingdom that is meant to transform lives, families and communities. It was never God’s plan that the government would do, what we His people were called to do. It’s time for us the people of God to rise up, partner together and let God’s kingdom reign on earth. It’s time for God’s kingdom to reign in every sphere of influence. This is how we are going to see small government. With each one doing our part, God’s kingdom will reign just like He said it would in Psalm 45:6, “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; a scepter of uprightness is the scepter of Your kingdom. Psalm 146:10, “The LORD will reign forever, Your God, O Zion, to all generations. Praise the LORD. Matthew 24:14, “This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.
We are hitting the ground running with the vision of our First Annual Women’s Conference. I am so proud of my Beautiful Queen, Dr. Kat Lindley and Pastor Lori Key that will minister at this conference. Healed Women, Healed Families, Healed Communities. Brothers; let’s take care of the children so our sisters can soak in God’s Presence on December 8 at Renewed Life Church in Arlington, Texas. Registration is now open. It is going to be transformative. We cannot wait to see our beloved sisters. We love you! God bless you!
