The Covid19 pandemic has changed the world as we all knew it two months ago. Each industry is seeing significant changes in navigating this season; with many more ahead. The church has uniquely been affected in terms of the limitation of meeting in buildings. Yet uniquely, the church has been affected in seeing unprecedented influx of souls into God’s Kingdom. We just celebrated Easter this past week. Coupled with the pandemic, believers globally had a sense of “living out” the Passover in their homes as recorded in Exodus 12. We are living in unique times that calls for a deeper commitment in walking with God.
Each week, as we receive influx of emails from people that have experienced significant losses during this pandemic, many are asking for prayer for their families and others are asking questions about faith in God. Crisis, just like this Covid19 pandemic forces humans to confront the subject of faith, whether they believe in God or not. As followers of Christ, we have a unique opportunity to point people to our Risen Savior. Jesus Christ is the one guarantee all humans need to ensure an eternal destination with their Creator. This is a time to answer the question of eternity with clarity and soberness. This is an eternal risk no human can afford to make. In childlike faith, anyone can receive the free gift of salvation that Jesus Christ already purchased to redeem mankind. It takes humility to receive this eternal gift that is not based on any merit, but purely by the grace of God.
Jesus supreme sacrifice was the full price of our salvation. No further sacrifices are required by anyone to become a child of God. On the cross, Jesus boldly declared, "It is finished" (John 19:30). This key declaration is the essence of our faith in God. This declaration is why we have the hope of eternity. This one declaration is why believers have liberty in Christ. This declarative truth is why we live, move and have our beings in Christ (Acts 17:28). Anyone that has experienced this finished work of Christ, is compelled to share the good news of salvation. This Covid19 crisis is a great time for the Body of Christ. With the help of the Holy Spirit, we as Christ’s followers and God’s laborers will propagate the gospel using all the means afforded in these times. Let us help more people find Jesus Christ during this pandemic. Together, we will continue to advance God's kingdom despite the limitations brought about by Covid19.
I cannot conclude this post without a proud mention and congratulation to my beautiful amazing Queen for her feature in the upcoming release of Simply Amazing Women by K.C.
