- Romans 12:13 NLT
As a doting proud dad, it gives me great joy to see my adult daughters flourish and thrive in their destinies. Even more, there is no greater joy than to see them cheering for each other as they journey through life and love on each other. Similarly, our heavenly Father has this kind of joy when He sees His sons and daughters cheering each other on as Jesus hands and feet in the world.
Last week, Take Back Ministries had the privilege again to serve alongside many organizations in the Dallas Fort Worth area at the 20th annual Dallas Mayor’s Back to School Fair. With over 35,000 people in attendance, families got a jump start with school related supplies for the new school year. This community in action event was a collaborative effort coordinated by the Mayor, the City of Dallas, various state and federal agencies, various companies, non-profit organizations, Dallas area schools and volunteers. In fact my oldest two daughters volunteered distributing new books to families and sharing about the mission of Take Back Ministries. The demonstration of outreach to bless people is outstanding. Just as a doting dad would, our heavenly Father must smile at the expression of His heart seeing a community in action. Whenever, we represent God to the least of our brothers and sisters as described in Matthew 25:40 we please our Lord. It is an indescribable gift!
A community in action gives courage and infuses enduring inspiration that expressly acknowledge that people do matter and God cares for them. As a ministry our mission is literal and metaphoric as we seek to express the love of a caring God according to Matthew 25: 35-36 (For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me).
Brothers and sisters, as followers of Christ our actions speak and preach a better sermon than our words to the world (1 Cor. 11:1). Be encouraged not to lose heart but continue shining your light. A little ray of light makes a big difference in the dark. It’s the hour to lead by example and be the ambassadors we are.
For The Cause of Christ,
