Because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, a former Muslim is a living witness of eternal life with God. As living witnesses of the resurrected life in Christ (being raised from death to life ) we have the hope of God’s glory as our inheritance in Christ. Glory be to God!
As we celebrated this year’s Easter season, the stirring in my spirit centered on the impact of living things. Only living things have the abilities for life processes. Living things are made up of cellular components, they grow, they reproduce, they move and they use up energy. Here is the stirring in my spirit; go with me to the book of Luke, chapter 24, verse 5 and imagine the horror the women faced as they encountered two men (angels) in clothes that gleamed like lightning. They had an encounter with angels. The women bowed down with their faces to the ground. The stirring in my spirit is from what the men said to them. Profound truth such that if allowed to take pre-eminence in our lives, there will be no place for the devil to hide or work.
Luke 24:5b: “But the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead?”
The men went further to remind them of what Jesus had told them while He was with them. It was after this explanation that they remembered what Jesus had told them. In essence, there was no reason for them to come back to the tomb looking for Jesus. He had told them He would rise again on the third day. There was no need looking for the living among the dead.
The inspirational thought for meditation is this: How many times do we as followers of Jesus Christ look for living things among dead things? There is absolutely no life in a dead thing. Also, do we seek living things or do we seek dead things? One has life and capable of life processes and the other has no ability for life whatsoever. Dear brothers and sisters do not spend any more moment seeking dead things. Pursue life, pursue the living. As we reflect on the importance of Jesus resurrection as His followers, may we seek after living things; declaring the unshakeable kingdom of our Lord and King!
