Stretched Out Hands

6/8/2022

Picture
"His hand is stretched out still" ---Isaiah 9:12

The Bible is full of accounts of God's outstretched hands. His outstretched hands denote power, healing and strength. This is something to remember in the days we are in. With so much happening in the world, this is the message we are sharing with friends and partners from around the world. God is always in control. This focus is necessary for anchoring and steadfastness in walking with God.

We continue to stand in the gap for all families affected in Buffalo, Uvalde, Laguna, Tulsa, Philadelphia and recently in Owo (Nigeria). With physical, emotional and medical assistance and resources, we also believe in God's supernatural power to comfort and heal all affected families. We encourage believers to fast and pray for the Body of Christ as God's outstretched hands of love in these days.

Here at Oasis Connection Ministries, we are growing and expanding. We are now under one umbrella- Oasis Connection Ministries with Oasis Focus Inc., as the school arm of God's outreach work to under-served communities. We appreciate all the feedback from partners and friends as we continue to update all aspects of God's work in our hands.

In Christ's Love,

Easter Outreach

4/6/2022

"As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of
the manifold grace of God"- 1 Peter 4:10

Oasis Focus Inc. family kicked off the
month of April with an Easter Giveaway for Oasis Focus We Care Outreach serving our wonderful families in South Dallas on April 2, 2022.  With volunteers from different churches and denominations, we had the privilege to demonstrate the beauty of God's kingdom through His children who came out to serve our under-served communities.

From the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank everyone that made the outreach a memorable day for all our families in South Dallas. The testimonies have been moving, giving God all the praises and honor for what He does best! Thank you to all our ministry friends and partners that shared flyers, contacted press, and passed out information to all their networks. The huge success of the outreach was due to everyone sharing their gift to make Jesus Christ known through each one that served our families. The joy that rested upon everyone was deep and uplifting. Thank you to all our financial supporters and our partner agencies that put a smile on the hearts of our families - we are grateful to God for you! We look forward to serving even more families next time.

Thank you to Feed The Children for their generosity. Thank you to the MLK Jr. Community Center for their hospitality. Thank you to all our terrific volunteers that came out with one heart and mind to serve in pure excellence! Thank you to all our board members for leading the way in each of their assigned areas- you make us so proud! Thank you to all our prayer partners, your prayers opened the floodgates of heaven upon South Dallas and we are grateful. This outreach is a fresh reminder of the reason why Christians celebrate Easter. It is for everyone that Christ came, died, was buried and resurrected.

In Christ's Love,

Lent Resources

3/4/2022

Picture
"Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek                me and find me when you seek me with all your heart" - Jeremiah 29:12-13

Some of you asked us for resources to help in your lent season journey. It is always an honor to serve you and your families. Lent is a sacred time for Christians all over the world. It's a time to renew and nurture our faith in the faithful risen Lord. It's a time of renewed hope in the Living God. It's a time to prepare for the remembrance of Christ's death, burial and resurrection. This year, lent is from March 2 to April 14, with Easter on Sunday, April 17th. No matter how you choose to observe lent this year, we hope the following resources will empower and equip you in preparing your heart through contemplative meditation in scriptures and worship. To access each lent resource, click on each hyperlink.

1. Lent in the Book of Psalms. This is a great place to rest our hearts as we follow in the steps of David's transparency in His walk with God. Lent provides us the opportunity to come to God just as we are and find Him to be great, good and gracious.

2. Lent reading plan on Bible Gateway. This is a great way to stay consistent in reading       scriptures that gives us the different context of Christ's life leading to His death, burial and resurrection. You can subscribe to the plan.

3. Lent worship songs. This is also a great way to include songs in daily scripture reading and meditation. These top 100 Easter worship songs provide a "looking towards" Easter as we engage our hearts, spirits and souls in praises and thanksgiving unto God.

We pray these resources will propel your experience to a deeper walk with God, deeper revelation of Christ and deeper intimacy with the Holy Spirit during this year. Let us stay connected in prayer as we journey through this lent.

In Christ's Love,

Drs. Johnson & Feyi Obamehinti

Divine Masterpiece

1/27/2022

Picture
                               “For we are God’s masterpiece”-Ephesians 2:10 NLT

The portrait of Adele Bloche-Bouer, painted in 1906 by Gustav Klimt is one of the most expensive paintings in the world. In fact, it is among the top five paintings in the world. The captivating thing about the painting is that Gustav meticulously did the painting over a period of three years through the request of Ferdinand Bloch-Bauer. Imagine completing a project not in one week, one month, but three years. Gustav needed that much time to make the painting a masterpiece- something uniquely outstanding. It takes a deep passion to stay committed to a task that long and bring forth the best product.

As we prayed into this new year for you, our hearts centered on Ephesians 2:10, “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago”.  This is what God had in mind when He made you- his beloved sons and daughters. He took his time to make you a masterpiece. Notice that verse says, “we are” and not “we were”. Think about this for a moment. It is a present tense. A continuous affirmation of who you are. This is a powerful transforming truth!

Many times it takes the process of time for this truth to become activated in our lives as sons and daughters of the living God. The activation happens when we allow God to work in us so He can work through us. The process is different for everyone. There is a well known quote (source unknown) that gives a mental picture of what this process of time looks like for a masterpiece.

It states that, “A bar of iron costs $5, made into horseshoes its worth is $12, made into needles it is worth $3500, made into balance springs for watches it's worth is $300,000.” However, unlike the iron bar, as a son or daughter of God, you are already a masterpiece. Your roadmap or journey to that activation and realization is what brings out the beauty of your masterpiece.

So brothers and sisters, you are God’s best work of artistry. You’re not going to be God’s best work of artistry. You already are. You’re already His masterpiece in Christ Jesus. Let this truth anchor you this year. Here at Oasis Focus, we continue to celebrate the amazing masterpiece that you are for God’s glory! Friendly reminder to be our guests for Oasis Connection TV or Oasis of Hope Podcast. We can’t wait to connect with you!

Messages of Christmas

12/22/2021

Picture
“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as                of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” – John 1:14

This is a repost from years back that still speaks to the Wonderful Gift of Christmas! Jesus Christ is the Star of Christmas. His birth is why we have and celebrate Easter. His birth is what made the way for our redemption through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. Without Christmas, there will be no hope of an eternity with God. Christmas literally brings the whole world together. The message of Christmas transcends ages. The message of Christmas is timeless. The message of Christmas is captivating. The message of Christmas is transforming. The message of Christmas is profound love in action. Here are three focal messages of what Christmas means to so many people around the world.

Christmas is a message of redemption: Matthew 1:21 “She will give birth to a son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins." The birth of Jesus was the doorway to our redemption. He was born to save us; as part of God’s magnificent plan for humanity. Without Christmas, there is no Cross and no Resurrection. Christmas is central to our redemption.

Christmas is a message of love: John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. God’s deep love for His creatures warranted an action that validated His love for us. His own beloved Son, not another creature, but His own Son, God sent demonstrating how deep He loves to have us back to Himself. By believing on the Person of Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross, we can be saved and have eternal fellowship with the Creator of the universe. This is profound love in action.

Christmas is a message of adoration: Luke 2:15 “When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about." God made sure the shepherds were part of His plan of Christ’s birth. The shepherds paint a great picture for us on what adoration involve. Luke further explains to us in verse 20 that “the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.”  Part of the wonder of Christmas, is the privilege God gives us to see promises manifested. When this happens, we have this longing of adoration to God because of His faithfulness. It’s an adoration that keeps us fixed and awestruck on Him. May we as sons and daughters of God, never tire of adoring our LORD! From our family and team have a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year!

End of Year Reflections

"Oh give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; for His steadfast love endures forever!"                                                        - 1 Chronicles 16:34

We are very grateful for everyone connected with Oasis Focus Inc. Hearing from you on a weekly basis is always a joy. We love hearing about how you are doing in your walk with God. We are also, deeply grateful for all our partners. Together this year we have served people across the globe with over 2500 first time salvation testimonies through Oasis Connection TV broadcasts. Thank you partners!  Through our weekly Saturday prayer, we have up to date, over 270.8K watch time minutes of people praying along each week. Through Oasis of Hope Podcast, now in episode 33, we have enjoyed serving you through your insightful questions. Thank you for staying connected!

As we reflect on all God has done this year and prepare our hearts for all in store in 2022, we are counting our blessings of each of you, your feedbacks, prayers, fellowship and support. We made it through the year together and that is the biggest standout for our team. Other major highlights this year are the partnership outreaches we have been privileged to engage in. Many have been virtual (seminars, classes, and conferences) and in person. We are still getting feedback from the conferences in the summer and most recently this fall.

We are honored to serve you in every capacity God commissions. Specifically, we are grateful for our most recent outreach to our friends and families in South Dallas. In partnership with the North Texas Food Bank and the Martin Luther King Jr Center we served 250 families with food and reading resources. Our partner Sir Kendricks Smile for Autism donated hygiene and cleaning supplies for the outreach and our friends at The Concillio donated their time and resources for the outreach. We are thankful for each partner and friend that made the recent outreach a memorable time of love and service to families.

Tomorrow, Saturday, December 18, the Martin Luther King Jr. Center will be hosting their annual Winter Warm-Up to provide new coats, hats and gloves to children in need. This will be a drive through event. If you would like to donate towards this event, please visit the Martin Luther King Jr. Center and make a contact via email or phone. When it gets cold in Texas, it can be extremely chilly. We hope that many of the families we are connected with about the school, will stop by the Winter Warm-Up tomorrow.

We recently celebrated all God has done for us as a team. We are grateful for each of our leaders and volunteers. They are passionate men and women of God with hearts to love and serve. We end this year with gratitude for the many ways our team has had to serve our communities as Jesus hands and feet by meeting the needs of families, youth and children right where they are. Thank you for the opportunity to serve you. You are God’s treasure. We are ecstatic for the anticipation of the harvest of God’s message of love and hope that will continue to multiply in our communities.

The Beauty of Advent

12/10/2021

Picture
"See, I am doing a new thing!" --Isaiah 43:19a

We had hoped it would not be another three months before an update via this public space. It is exactly three months since our last post. However, this is not the case for our subscribed ministry partners and friends. If you are yet to subscribe, check out the icon on this website that pops up and click on it to subscribe. We do send out weekly updates that keeps you informed of all that is going on here at Oasis Focus Inc.

This is one of the best seasons of the year! A time to focus on the meaning and purpose of Christ’s birth. With the onset of the Advent season, many of you reached out to let us know you are embarking on Advent for the first time! This brings us great joy that you will discover Emmanuel in a personal way as you journey through this Advent season. If you follow Oasis of Hope Podcast, we shared some ways to participate in this Advent season. From a time of consecration to an increased time spent in God’s Word, prayer and worship, Advent gives us the avenue to renew our minds and allow our minds to dwell on the incredible gift of salvation through Jesus Christ- who is the source of life and all eternal gifts now and everlasting.

We catch the importance of renewing our minds as believers and followers of Christ, with the major highlights the scriptures provides. Here are twelve scriptural examples on how critical our mindset are. Take a look at the connection to renewal, minds, thoughts and more in these scriptures:

Romans 12:2 - And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Philippians 4:8 - Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

2 Corinthians 4:16 - For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.

Psalms 119:11 - Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

Ephesians 4:23 - And be renewed in the spirit of your mind.

1 Peter 1:13
 - Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Colossians 3:2
 - Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

John 8:32 - And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Colossians 3:16 - Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

Philippians 2:5 - Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Isaiah 40:31 - But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

1 Corinthians 2:16 - For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ.

The beauty of Advent is that God births something fresh and new in you. This is one of the major reasons we love the Advent season. It gives us the opportunity to prepare our hearts, spirits, souls and lives for the celebration of Christ's birth. As we look forward to the close of 2021, let the beauty of Advent be upon us as the Holy Spirit is poured afresh upon our lives for the glory of God! Brothers and sisters, stay blessed, stay encouraged, and stay close to the Vine.

For The Cause of Christ,

Sustenance

"That they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He                                            might be glorified" (Isaiah 61:3b).

Beloved, it has been three months ago since we updated you via this public space. If you are not subscribed to receive email updates, we encourage you to do so, since we send out weekly updates to ministry partners and friends. There is an icon on this website that pops up that you can use to subscribe.

We deeply appreciate all your feedback, partnership, and support. That you take the time to write and let us know your thoughts on ministry programs and share your prayer requests, means a lot to us. We are honored we get to serve you and your families in any capacity God allows us to. We know these are some challenging stormy times for many families with loss of loved ones due to this ravaging pandemic (please ensure you and your families are following all necessary guidelines for your safety and health), in addition to domestic and international concerns. It is times like these, that God’s people rise up to the charge and proclaim the love of Christ to a world searching for answers. In the last three months we have seen several first-time salvations through Oasis Focus weekly ministries. We have processed more prayer requests on anxiety and fear than we have ever done before. And our first-time website visits have doubled since January of this year. We say all these to say, we see you and we as a board are here to serve you. As we prayed for you and prepared this update, the reoccurring word of encouragement is sustenance.

We see in Bible days that no matter what kind of storm was happening, God always had a plan He executes for His people. The word sustenance brings to mind an oak tree. A special tree that feeds diverse creatures. The oak wood is versatile for many uses such as building homes, making tools, constructing ships, furniture, and source of a myriad of raw materials. God has made His people trees of righteousness and He wants to be glorified through the lives of His people (Isaiah 61: 3b). His glory He will not share with anyone. The work of righteousness was fully paid for by our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ. There is nothing any child of God could do to earn this. It is a free gift. Yet, in times like this in order to experience the sustaining grace and power of God, we have a part to commit to and live out. As we promised some of you, we would share what God has used in empowering and sustaining our walk with Him, these are 3 things we keep front and center to be divinely sustained by the Holy Spirit.  These 3 things are beneficial in remaining unmovable, unshakable, and abounding in God’s work no matter what is happening in our world (1 Corinthians 15:58).

1. First and foremost, we must maintain our faith in God. We are children of the Most High God, the Omnipotent, Omniscient, Omnipresent and Jehovah Adonai. He promises to never leave or forsake His children. Maintaining our faith involves daily communion with God through prayer. A faith in God that is not maintained will suffer greatly.

2. Secondly, our faith in God must be feed to keep growing. Faith comes by hearing the Word of God. That means, we have to soak ourselves in the Word of God daily. Not just once a week. We must read it, meditate on it, hear it and speak it continuously. With that we can overflow with the life of God and remain sustained no matter what may be happening in our world.

3. Thirdly, we must access the power in the blood and name of Jesus. The blood of Jesus has divine power and can never lose its value. The blood of Jesus has divine powers. The name of Jesus is like no other. His name is a Strong Tower, the righteous can always run into it and have safety. Daniel 11:32a declares that those that know their God shall be strong and do exploits. Know the power in the name of Jesus and believe Him to be your Healer, Chief Shepherd, Redeemer, Sustainer, Mighty Warrior, Deliverer, Advocate, Helper, Counselor, Strength and Song, Alpha and Omega, Provider, and whatever you need Him to be in these challenging times. Believe and you will see the hand of the Great I AM upon you.  Brothers and sisters, stay blessed, trust in God and be quick to obey Him when He leads you.

For The Cause of Christ,

Drs. Johnson & Feyi Obamehinti

Heartitude

5/26/2021

Beloved, we appreciate all the feedback you provide us weekly. The most recent feedback about Israel has helped us to continue to pray for Israel and the Middle East. Many of you shared how the recent Oasis of Hope podcast helped you to gain a better understanding of what is happening in the Middle East. We have also used the feedback on the TV broadcast to recruit guests for Oasis Connection TV. Our  weekly Saturday prayer now allows for our leaders to stay in tune with the Holy Spirit as it pertains to the current climate of our culture. Congratulations to Dr. Feyi Obamehinti-appointed Chair by the Governor for the Texas Diabetes Council.

We have been most blessed by the testimonials of salvation and transformation from our viewing friends and partners on Oasis Connection TV. Thank you for sharing your stories with us. Your stories of transformation are why we bring you the Word of God through the broadcasts every week. Our production team has been at work producing new programs that we know will restore and equip hearts and lives for God's glory.

Due to Covid-19, the deadline to submit an application for the 2021 Excellence In Character Scholarship Award is July 24, 2021. We know many of our young people have faced challenging schooling situations and we want to give them enough time to prepare their application packet. If you know any graduating seniors in Dallas and Tarrant counties, direct them to our scholarship page (Education Tab) to apply. Congratulations to all 2021 graduates. We pray overflowing blessings of God on each of you. A special congratulations to our daughter -Dr. Obamehinti- for graduating from medical school and heading to her residency program. We are very proud of you and know God will continue to guide you as you serve the healthcare needs of people.

This is a time to be reminded about keeping our hearts free so that we have the "heartitude" (attitude of the heart) that pleases God. Heartitude is the attitude of the heart in any given moment or situation. Isaiah 40:31 is specific about the understanding of this scripture on "heartitude." The verse starts with the word “but” which is to introduce the idea that something contrasting has already been stated. Despite the contrast, feasibilities are presented. There is renewal of strength that only comes from waiting for the Lord.  We see here a prerequisite that unlocks a supernatural strength when done in the right heart attitude.

This renewal of strength has some attributes that are lasting, unstoppable and impactful. As followers of Christ, our possibilities from this scripture include rising up with wings like an eagle as we live for Christ, running and not getting weary in life, and walking through whatever life is without fainting. Brothers and sisters, Isaiah 40:31 is God’s assured promise as we occupy for Him in the days we live in. With prayer and demonstration of God's spirit in us, may we continue to rise up with wings like an eagle soaring as Christ's ambassadors. God Bless you!

For The Cause of Christ,

Hope of Easter

4/4/2021

Picture
"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead" (1 Peter 1:3)

Christianity is not based on human opinions or philosophical inferences or assumptions. It is built on absolute truth (Matthew 16:18) that can never be debated but accepted. As a former Muslim, who was radically born again, I know firsthand the arguments that have been made against Christianity. Jesus Christ is not a myth, but the Son of God (Luke 22:70) sent in human form to redeem a lost world back to God the Father. Jesus blood that was shed on the cross was the currency of our redemption transaction.  The hope of Easter is a reality in every believer that has opened the door of their hearts and life to Jesus. The hope of Easter gives us an unshakeable evidence of an eternal communion with God.

When I think of Easter, my thoughts always turn to the account in Matthew 28:11-15, “Some of the guard came into the city and reported to the chief priests all the things that had happened. When they had assembled with the elders and consulted together, they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers, saying, "Tell them, 'His disciples came at night and stole Him away while we slept.' And if this comes to the governor’s ears, we will appease him and make you secure." So they took the money and did as they were instructed; and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day."

The guards at Jesus tomb had to know there was something out of the ordinary about this Man that was killed and buried in the grave they were assigned to protect. They were so close to the supernatural and yet never experienced transformation.  They were so close to their breakthrough, yet failed to acknowledge the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. The guards were so close to the hope of eternal communion with God, yet decided to reject the truth. They were so close to their miracle, yet they hardened their hearts to the truth.

They were so close to divine wisdom, yet they chose to follow human decrees. They were so close to an eternal exchange, yet chose material exchange.  They chose to carry their burdens with them, instead of leaving them all at the cross. They were so close to the Advocator, yet chose to do things their way. They were so close to the Way, Truth, and Life, yet chose to reject the truth. Can you begin to see how privileged you are as a believer? Amazing grace found you, touched you and you're forever His.

Can you imagine been that close to the Savior and Deliverer and yet not saved or delivered? The guards show us “what not to follow
” as believers. What will you chose to do with the Hope of Easter?  Celebrate the living evidence of the hope of Easter. Jesus is Alive and lives in us His bride. That is one perpetual reason for continuous celebration. He is Risen and lives forever more!

Repost from Easter March 29, 2013.
