Rapture Alert - Extra Oil In Lamps

10/1/2025

Picture

Scripture References: “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father” (Matthew 24:36).

“But concerning that day or that hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father” (Mark13:32).

“So Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for Him” (Hebrews 9:28).

Imagine getting an email that Jesus Christ is coming back on September 23 or 24, 2025. This happened and it is not something to be imagined. One of our ministry friends received an email with this information and shared it that the rapture was trending on social media. A pastor from South Africa shared on TikTok that God gave him a vision that the rapture (the second coming of Jesus Christ) was going to happen on September 23-24 which falls on Rosh Hashanah- the Jewish New Year. This misinformation was carried by many news outlets.

This is the danger of the times we live in is that Inaccurate information, deception, and misinformation is rampant everywhere we turn. On the other hand, this is a time for believers to get into the Word of God- read it, study it, and meditate on it. This is the time for followers of Christ to have extra oil in their lamps and know the Word of God. The scriptures explains in multiple places about the coming of Jesus Christ- no one knows that day or time, except the Almighty God.

Drs. Johnson and Feyi Obamehinti discuss the fallacy of these kinds of misinformation. God has not left believers in Christ in limbo or to guess about important things like the coming of Christ. The Bible tells us; we will have these kinds of false visions and teachings in these last days. As ambassadors of Christ, speak up against these false teachings. When the next rounds of rapture forecast comes around, let’s shut it off with the truth of God’s infallible Word.

Take a listen to episode 94 and share with your family and friends. These times call for believers to be Bereans who study the Word of God for themselves, be in community with fellow believers who are pursuing the heart of God and be in daily prayer asking the Holy Spirit to illuminate every area of our lives for the indwelling Presence of God. Stay Alert!

In Christ's Love,

God's Praying Army

9/1/2025

Praying Group photo from Freepix

Scripture Reference: "I sought for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I would not destroy it, but I found no one." (Ezekiel 22:30).

We are in a time that calls for continuous prayer in our world. Contrary to what some people may think that prayer is useless, each believer in Christ is called to stand in the gap of prayer to build up the walls of our families, churches and communities. Do not be fooled by what people think about spiritual matters when they have never walked in those spiritual practices. There is tremendous power in prayer. In fact, the Bible tells us how powerful it is when one person prays and what happens when an army of believers pray. Deuteronomy 32:30 tells us about this extraordinary power of prayer, “one will chase a thousand, two ten thousand"

To help spiritual leaders pray in alignment with the heart of God, it is important that we take a look at what the Bible tells us. A specific pattern of prayer we can emulate is found in 2 Chronicles 1:11-12. In this Bible text, we see a great example of the selfless heart of Solomon- who asked God for divine wisdom. Solomon emphasized the prioritization of spiritual gifts over worldly possessions. In this Bible text, God granted Solomon’s request for wisdom to govern His people effectively. Because he decided to ask wisely, God blessed him and he is noted as the wisest of God’s leaders.

We encourage each spiritual leader to meditate on these Bible text and continue to stand in the gap of prayer as we turn our hearts and gaze towards God to move in our families, churches and communities. These are some prayer points to help us stay unified in prayer as we pray God’s heart and will.

Prayer Points:
(1). Pray for your family (your spouse, children, marriage if married, and if single, pray for godly husband (man) or wife (woman).

(2).  Pray for the eternal blessing of your loved ones (pray for the salvation of their souls).

(3). Pray for spiritual leaders to be leaders of conviction that embrace holiness and eschew all forms of evil.

(4).  Pray for the Body of Christ to be built on truth of the Bible and not the trends of culture.

(5).  Pray for all elected and appointed civic leaders to know for themselves the  fear (reverence) of God.

(6).  Pray for peace in war-torn areas of the world Europe, Middle East, and Africa.

(7).  Pray for the Body of Christ to grow and live out the agape love of God (our world needs it in this critical hour).

Spiritual Growth

8/1/2025

Picture
Scripture Reference: “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen” (2 Peter 3:18).

The scriptures provide the blueprint for believers in Christ on all aspects of life. Digging into the truth of God’s Word yields wisdom and guidance for our daily lives. In this episode of Oasis of Hope podcast, the question is asked by one of our Oasis of Hope community: What is progressive Christianity? Is it Biblical? Looking at scriptures, Drs. Johnson and Feyi Obamehinti discuss what seems to be the understanding behind the question- which is a question on spiritual growth. Take a listen to episode 92 as they walk through the scriptures and unpack the truth of spiritual growth.

From theological studies, the idea behind progressive Christianity has been misleading, deceptive and misunderstanding for many new believers in Christ and some of our next generation. The hallmark of maturity for all believers in Christ is living out and walking in love. Any believer in Christ that is living out the God kind of love as 1 Corinthians 13 explains is growing spiritually in the abundant life Jesus came to give anyone that believes in Him for salvation and an eternity with God Almighty. Also, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ already set the bar for how believers will be known to the world based on our love for one another: “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another” (John 13:35).

This is the time for believers to be student of the Bible, asking the help of the Holy Spirit to know, learn and understand the ways of God, which are supernatural and counterculture. Each believer must choose God’s way of truth above the trends of the world, culture of the world, and ideas of the world that are contrary to the truth of scriptures. When believers in Christ are growing daily in their walk with God, there will be “fruits” that point and align to this spiritual growth. This is an encouragement for believers in Christ to deliberately choose the way of truth. The ways of the world will ultimately lead to confusion, just as the scriptures tell us. Let’s be people of the Way (John 14:6).  "I am the way, the truth, and the life” – Jesus Christ.

In Christ's Love,

Drs. Johnson & Feyi Obamehinti

Summer Time

Next Generation photo from Freepix.

Scripture Reference: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-20.

It is now summer, and we are officially in the second half of 2025! We praise, adore, and thank God for His goodness and faithfulness! For many of our friends and partners, summertime tend to be a slower pace with vacations, rest and recalibration for the second half of the year. Here at Oasis, we do take a slower pace during the summer months, but all our ministry and work serving families continues. As we continue to pray for you our partners and friends this summer, we ask for your prayers as well.

We have had a high number of requests for the 2025 Excellence In Character Scholarship application. We are just a few weeks away when the deadline closes for this year. Priestly Call

Scripture Reference: "By Him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name" (Hebrews 13:15).

Believers in Christ are called to a priestly call to offer unto God sacrifices of praise and worship (Hebrews 13:15). There is a supernatural grace that God pours into His people when we offer ourselves unto Him and His Kingdom. We are thrilled to share our newly released song of worship and anthem encouraging God’s people to say yes to the LORD, yield to God and to stand for Him no matter the season, times, era, circumstances, or situations. As God brings reformation to His body worldwide, He is affirming His people to live for Him, His Word, His will, and His promises. We pray that this anthem of worship strengthens your faith in Christ, takes your anchor deeper in God, refreshens your soul and spirit, empowers your desire for God’s ways, and equips you in your daily living for God’s glory.

Happy Father’s Day to all our amazing dads leading and covering your homes as priests unto the LORD. We are praying that God will continually enrich you with His Presence, bless you with His wisdom, and cover you! We thank God for each of you as you honor God through your priestly calling. Be sure and take a listen to Oasis of Hope Podcast, Episode 91 on the Priestly Call. God bless you!

Life's Plumbline

5/5/2025

Scripture Reference: Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.  But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish. (Psalm 1: 1-6, KJV)

Followers of Christ all around the world are currently setting their gaze towards Pentecost. This is the seventh Sunday (June 8, 2025) after Easter (April 20, 2025) that believers celebrate the blessing of the Holy Spirit upon the disciples of Christ as explained in the Book of Acts 2: 1-31. After the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the disciples committed a major amount of their time in the Word of God. Their Savior, Teacher and Master was no longer with them physically. The disciples searched the Word of God for their daily guidance and sustenance of their faith in God. The Word of God became their plumbline.

In construction, engineers use the plumbline – a tool used for vertical alignment in which a weight suspended from a string ensures all the structures are well aligned and upright. This is critical when building tall skyscraper type buildings. Constructing any type of building without a plumbline leads to disaster.

As followers of Christ, our lives are under God’s eternal construction and require His truth to ensure Christ’s body of believers are exactly who He created us to in our world.  This is why the plumbline symbolizes the power of God’s Word to orient the lives of Christ followers with truth- Jesus Christ! The Word of God is an unshakeable standard irrespective of the cultural trends of our time.

In a time that there are myriads of deceptions, it is important for followers of Christ to stake their lives on the unshakable truth of God’s Word. The Word of God has the power to do the following in our daily lives:
  • Wash believers (Ephesians 5:20)
  • Feed believers (1 Peter 2:2)
  • Quench believers’ thirst (John 4:14)
  • Fill believers (Colossians 3:16-18)
  • Sustain believers (Jeremiah 15:16-18)
If you do not yet have a Biblical community to grow with other believers, we encourage you to find one. We are happy to help find one no matter where you are located. Most importantly, we encourage you to daily feed your spirit and soul with the powerful infallible Word of God. It is our plumbline for life!

The Resurrected Life

4/20/2025

Scripture References: “For we are the sweet fragrance of Christ" (2 Corinthians 2:15a). “So I prophesied as He commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army” (Ezekiel 37:10). “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ; according to His great mercy He has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead” (1 Peter 1:3).

For the past forty days Christians around the world have observed lent as they prepared their hearts for the celebration of Christ’s resurrection. It was in Antioch in the book of Acts (chapter 11:26) that the disciples were first called Christians because they were Christlike. The data from the 2011 Pew Research stated that a comprehensive demographic study of more than 200 countries found that there were 2.18 billion Christians of all ages around the world.

These 2.18 billion Christians represent nearly a third of the estimated 2010 global population of 6.9 billion. It’s 2025 and that number is more around the world. Resurrection Sunday or Easter as it is called is the foundation of faith for Christians. Without Christ’s resurrection Christians all around the world have no hope of a relationship with Jesus Christ.

In fact, without Jesus’s resurrection there is no basis of a faith in the Almighty God. The resurrection authenticates a believer’s faith in God, just as the scriptures states and explains. The resurrected life we celebrate during Easter is all about transformation; from dying, to burial and to resurrection. Every believer that has experienced the new life in Christ is a living witness and testimony to the transformative power of God.

This is why observing lent is powerful for everyone that has been born again through the Spirit of God. Understanding the ultimate sacrifice Jesus made on our behalf so we can have a relationship with God is life altering. The wonderment of the power of transformation is fascinating. It is Jesus sacrifice that makes our resurrected life possible as His followers, who adore and worship Him. The resurrection is what makes transformation a reality in the life of a follower of Christ.

In this special episode of Oasis of Hope podcast, Drs. Johnson and Feyi Obamehinti share what the resurrected life means to each of them. From two different backgrounds, they each know firsthand the incredible change that happens in the life of anyone that invites Jesus Christ as Savior and LORD. They know firsthand that the resurrected life is a daily relationship with the King of Kings who daily loads them with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places (Ephesians 1:3). Happy Easter! Happy Resurrection! Jesus Christ Is Risen!

Turn Eyes To The Cross

3/1/2025

"All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth unto such as keep His covenant and His testimonies" - Psalm 25:10

Beloved brothers and sisters, this Wednesday, March 5, 2025, marks the beginning of Lent, a period that precedes Easter. Right after Jesus was baptized, the Spirit of God descended and rested on Him. This encounter empowered Jesus for the days that followed as He was led into the wilderness for 40 days of prayer and fasting (Matthew 4:1-11).

These 40 days are observed all over the world by many Christians during what we call Lent. The 40 days prelude Easter. Lent provides us with the time to focus on what matters the most- a deeper relationship with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, that releases the power of God through intentional times of prayer, fasting, and worship.

Lent which runs till April 17, 2025, also gives followers of Christ the opportunity to join hearts with other believers globally to cover the 10/40 Window in prayer. This specific area of the world has the largest unreached people groups.  Our understanding as followers of Christ on this specific area of the world is paramount to an effective prayer according to James 5:16b.

We encourage followers of Christ to commit to praying for one of the 10/40 Window nations during these 40 days of Lent, our God will hear and release an avalanche of His love and power to save, deliver and heal His people.

As we walk through Lent, let us turn our eyes upon Jesus and look full into His wonderful face. We will find that the angst of this world will grow strangely dim, and the light of God’s glory and grace will be multiplied upon our lives. With that fullest of God’s light in us, we will welcome Easter on April 20, 2025 with the resurrection power that breathes new life to all things.

Celebrating Loveuary

2/11/2025

Picture
God gives us a template of His love of how much He loves His creation through His plan of redemption- “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). The month of February we get to celebrate love with Valentine’s Day and Black History all month. We are celebrating Loveuary- as we celebrate love and Black History Month. In this episode 86 of Oasis of Hope Podcast, Drs. Johnson and Feyi Obamehinti discuss the contributions of African Americans to the robust culture we  have today.

Our nation has been blessed with the notable contributions of all people to this great nation – United States of America. We have reiterated many times, each history of every people, kindred and tongues is American History. As we celebrate Black History, Asian History, Hispanic History, Native American History, Jewish History and many more histories, we are celebrating American History. As we celebrate Black History this month, we are highlighting some of the notable inventions that are now part of our culture and lifestyle. One major standout in celebrating Black History this month is family values. Adding this critical aspect is important as we celebrate family values.

Albert Brown and Marie Van Brittan Brown- a husband-and-wife team, invented the home security system in 1966. They were granted patent for their invention of closed circuit TV security system in 1969. This invention formed the foundation of video monitoring that included the remote door locks, push button alarm triggers and two way voice communication. Their invention also led to CCTV surveillance in public areas. In 2016, it was reported that over 100 million concealed closed-circuit cameras are operating world-wide. We have the Browns to thank for every home security system we have today. Another genius is Benjamin Banneker who invented the first functioning wooden clock in 1753. The clock kept accurate time and struck every hour. We have Banneker to thank for those wooden clocks we see all around us today.

Setting a gold standard for family values are Mr. and Mrs. Cleovis and Arwilda Whiteside- African American couple that were married for 84 years. Mr. Cleovis Whiteside passed on to heaven last year, 2024 at the age of 102 with Mrs. Arwilda Whiteside at 98 years old at the time of his passing. According to the American Community Survey (ACS), in 2018, stated in their research that only 8% of married couple reach the 50-year mark in their marriage. In 2022, ACS updated that number to 7.7% and stated that only 2% of marriages reach the 60-year mark. The Whitesides are in that rare 2%- married for 84 years! The Whitesides attribute their faith to the longevity of their marriage and lives. The Whitesides were recognized by the Arkansas Family Council in 2019 and 2022.

The power of faith in the life of a believer in Christ cannot be underestimated. Faith is an active living fellowship, power and fire with the Almighty God- the Creator of the universe. What a blessing God bestows on every believer in Christ! “After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before  the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands” --- Revelations 7:9

Kingdom Advance- One Soul

1/27/2025

Picture
Photo by Maxim Hopman on Unsplash

"Now then we are ambassadors for Christ" - 2 Corinthians 5:20

God advanced His kingdom when He called Abraham in Genesis 12. This trend follows as God calls Isaac-one soul. Then God calls Israel- another soul. God calls Joseph- one soul. He calls Esther- one soul. We get into the New Testament; God calls His Only Son Jesus Christ to pay the ultimate price for our salvation. God does this again, when He calls Saul of Tarsus- another soul.

This concept of one soul is central to God’s heart for mankind. The heart of God’s redemption covers the whole world, yet redemption is experienced one soul at a time. God showed the value of one soul in Matthew 18:12 – a shepherd with a hundred sheep, had one of them go astray, he leaves ninety and nine, and goes into the mountains to seek out the lost one.

Mother Teresa was known for this one soul concept as she served her people and communities. Same was Brother Lawrence approach to serving people in his communities. A man of deep prayer, he sought to minister the grace of God one soul at a time. God has given His remnant this window of time to advance His kingdom exponentially with everything we have and with everything we are, reaching souls.

Every follower of Jesus Christ is on earth today because God has mandated them to advance Him and His Kingdom within their given sphere of influence. Look at the Word of God in Matthew 5:14-16. “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lamp stand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven." This scripture makes it clear that we, as believers, are carriers of God’s light and our purpose is to make Jesus known to everyone yet to know the amazing grace of God in their lives.

Believers can fulfill this godly mandate by shining the light of Jesus Christ in every circumstance they find us. Additionally, it can only be accomplished through possessing the correct attitude. It involves looking beyond one’s abilities and stepping into the unknown by contributing, helping, supporting, changing, pleading, and standing in the gap on behalf of one soul. And any believer, young or older, can produce an impact on the life of others, one soul at a time.

Imagine the power that tiny mosquitoes have. Each one as tiny creatures can make a significant negative impact on a person’s health. One bite from a mosquito can lead to malaria. This goes to show that no one or no group is too small to make a difference, one soul at a time. Only a little spark is needed to ignite a revolution. For believers our aim and focus is eternity- it is forever and the mandate for every soul not yet anchored in Christ is very urgent!

Every born-again believer already have what it takes to ignite and advance God’s kingdom revolution.  Through the ministry of the Holy Spirit, bathed in compassion, every born-again believer is fully empowered and equipped to shine the light of God, one soul at a time. This is the time and hour to be the “mosquitoes” of the world that are determined to advance God’s kingdom for His glory. It is time to galvanize the body of Christ to generate the mosquito effect in our world for the glory of God.

Along these lines of advancing God’s kingdom here at Oasis, we continue to grow and amidst these continuous growth in serving our communities, we have made some changes to our weekly Saturday newsletters. If you are on our newsletter subscription, you have received this information already. Beginning next month this newsletter will be monthly (3rd Saturdays) featuring three sections:  Encouragement, Prayer Requests and Announcements. This will give our team more efficiency in delivery of our services and enough turnaround time on many of the operations of all our organizations. Please mark your calendars, here are dates to be on the lookout for our monthly newsletters: 2/15, 3/15, 4/19, 5/17, 6/21, 7/19, 8/16, 9/20, 10/18, 11/15 and 12/20. Let’s pray together for the exponential advancement of God’s kingdom on the earth, one soul at a time.

In Christ's Love,

Drs. Johnson & Feyi Obamehinti
